Watercolor wings meets the minc....

I am truly loving this machine!  I was itching to work on this watercolor wing stamp set using the minc machine, and let me say it did NOT let me down, it turned out better than I had imagined!

Hmm this was very hard to photograph, so popped it on my floor :)

I stamped the bottom layer of the butterfly in so saffron, second layer in calypso coral,
top layer has been clear embossed, covered in the gold foil and popped through the minc machine.
The result is just stunning.

I used the stamp from moments like these, and while all the little dots didnt come out I love love love how this turned out, not perfect, kinda rustic and gold.

Now to order a heap of beautiful foil colours so I can stamp and foil my heart out.

Stampin' up! meets the minc

How gorgeous is that sparkly ribbon - I am in love!

Squee!  I received my brand new Heidi Swapp Minc machine today and I just could not wait to play!

I mainly bought it to use with our stamps!  I love shiny things and the foils are just perfect to use in addition to our wonderful images and products.

Ok so I started with an upcoming new stamp set in the Holiday catalogue called peaceful pines.  It is just gorgeous. ( I can't show you the images on the stamp case until the 1st Sept)

but I did choose a stamp image that was more imperfect in terms of lines - this gives it a little bit of room to move with how crisp the image ends up being once foiled.  Fine lines in a stamp won't work too well with the foil application when using stamps.

All that foil shiny yumminess using our stamp!  Love that we can use these with new products about in the market place, going to perfect for my project life!

A FAIL BELOW ha ha ha
This image below was a beautiful tree with words inside it, it totally didnt work with the foil, its too fine.

A stamp set that I think is going to be perfect to use with this minc machine is the stamp set called watercolor words from our main catalogue.  Am off to order that so I can give this a try!

STEP 1

On a piece of whisper white cardstock use your embossing buddy(this is very important) and cover your cardstock in readiness.

STEP 2

Using versamark - stamp your image onto the white cardstock

STEP 3

Cover in clear embossing powder and then heat set it.

STEP 4

Once cooled follow the steps to using the minc machine ( I used on #3)

And you are done!

A christmas cutie..

I am loving the images from the new upcoming stamp set Christmas Cuties way too much, I have another angel card for you today, and this one really doesn't have to be used as a Christmas card, could be for anyone really just needing an angel at any time.

I am entering this into SUO challenges this week - which is a card without words.

A sparkly shaker card

I am loving all the new goodies that will be coming out in the next holiday catalogue - not long to go now - yippee!

The wooden snowflakes are all new love them to bits.
This confetti inside is left over from last christmas, I bought a heap to use for this Christmas lol.

Check out the all NEW frosted rhinestones Ive added to the wooden snowflakes, super cute.

I also did a mini shaker at the bottom of the inside of this card.

The all new embossing folder is just gorgeous.

One other thing I love, this new stamp set called peaceful pines has such a fun sentiment on it, so not only is it a cute embellishment, I didn't NEED to put another sentiment on the card, its the perfect stamp set for that.

I recently became the proud owner of a we r memory keepers fuse tool - let me just say - it will totally change the way you make shaker cards, and mess free - Amazing

A Rustic Cabin at Christmas

One of my items on my bucket list is to spend a Christmas in the snow.  My ideal Christmas would be in a cabin holed up with a roaring fire, snow falling gently around me, cup of hot chocolate, a good book and of course my wonderful family.
Well one of these days maybe - living in Australia our Christmas's are smack bang in the middle of summer lol.

Todays Easel card is a picture of how that bucket list item just may be (in my mind anyway lol)

Most of all of these items used are from the new upcoming holiday catalogue, this catalogue is not to be missed.

My window is raised on dimensionals to make it appear that it stands out from the flat of the rustic panelling of the cabin.

Some quick pics on how I got the easel to look like that.
Create a standard sized easel, score the top half in half again as pictured.
Using your scissors or paper trimmer cut out a a portion the size of your window

Glue the bottom half under the score lines like pictured below - use tombow glue.

I then popped the top layer on the top of the card like below.
This way you wont see cardstock behind the vellum.

Capture Life.... Day 1 - 7 Recap

I am popping in today with something a little different.  This month I am doing a 30 day challenge?
A chance to record memories for a full 30 days.
A couple of weeks ago Heidi Swapp lost her 17 year old son for those that do not follow the scrapbooking world too closely.
The why and how is Heidi's story.

You can all start this at any time and join in.  At the end of the photo taking I will pop them into a Project Life layout and share them with you all on here.

I have the first 7 days (including todays) below.
A couple of the photos I have grabbed from my phone from events in the past 12 months, ie our last family holiday.
Each day Heidi's facebook page includes a prompt for the photo of the day.  Its an amazing idea to grab everyday life and just simply record it.
So who wants to jump right on in and join in?  You will pleased that you did, especially in years to come, sometimes, a simple memory like a calm night on the river brings back the most amazing memories.

Day7 ‪#‎preparetobeamazed‬ - there's my boy on his first rock climb - he loved it and it came so natural - I love how Harry is prepared to try anything at least once ‪#‎lovemyboy‬ ‪#‎hscapturelife‬

Day 6 ‪#‎Lucky‬ - lucky was the day I said yes to a date with my wonderful hubby - fast forward to now and we've been together 22 years‪#‎hscapturelife‬

Day 5 ‪#‎HelloAdventure‬ - Harry and his cousin playing in freshly fallen leaves - what these kids imaginations let them create out of a pile of leaves is amazing - doesn't have to cost anything for it to be an adventure‪#‎hscapturelife‬

Day 4 - ‪#‎bestever‬ - going through my phone I took this photo on our last family holiday, nothing to me beats sitting along the river edge watching the sun come up or go down, its my peaceful place, I take a coffee with me and just sit in peace. The calm and the stillness allows me to just breathe. Whats your best ever?? ‪#‎hscapturelife‬

Day3. ‪#‎Rad‬! This machine makes my life far too easy, I would love a thermomix one day, but wasn't too sure if I would use it enough, so I bought the Ultimate Kitchen Machine as a trial to see if it would become a necessary part of my life lol, and I love love love it, it is the best machine, I have got so much more creative with it, anyway my dessert is pictured but the thing I have to say is rad is this machine smile emoticon ‪#‎hscapturelife‬

Day2 ‪#‎wander‬ - I loathe shopping if any kind, but the toy sale is on so I thought would head to the plaza and wander the shops in search of inspiration for Harrys looming birthday ‪#‎hscapturelife‬

Day One!  #Takeaphotoofwhereyouarenow  - I was having a coffee - with a super cute message scrawled on the cup to stay warm lol ( yep freezing in Adelaide)
