To live is to travel

I love love love project life and Stampin' Up! have some super cool stamp sets to use with it.  However todays card I am using the set for a retirement card. You could also use it for friends/colleagues who are travelling overseas for working holidays or backpacking to name a few ideas.

I am also totally in love with our new neutrals Designer Series paper stack that is coming out in the new annual catalogue on the 2nd June, I swear I will be needing a new stack by then, I am using it like I have never used DSP before.

Its hard to see in the photo but the designer paper is actually silver, nice and shiny, and I love it.

and the inside of the card - done quite simply.

I am using the sketch design this week from Just Add Ink

Watermelon choctop

You can never go wrong with an ice-cream right? BUT add a gorgeous dollop of chocolate and I pretty much think its as close to heaven as you can get!

Who else has ice-cream in at least their top 5 of their fave foods?

I have to admit I wasn't too sure of this new colour called watermelon wonder, but it goes perfectly, giving this card the little pop of colour it needed, and how cute is that little watermelon wonder blossom accent on the top of the Choc top.  Yep another little sneak peak of what is coming!

The chocolate topping was made with the same punch (another new line) that makes the icecream, I have just trimmed the bottom to look like drips, then covered it in crystal effects to make it look lovely and shiny, pop the blossom accent on top before the crystal effects has dried and you are all done.

Squee - I loved this set I am about to show you, absolutely love the new in colour coming really soon

Mint Macaron

There are a few sneak peaks in this set, I am impatiently tapping my feet for the 2nd June when this catalogue goes live let me say - too many goodies to share.

The little gift bag is made using the mini treats thinlet die.

The twine was white, I coloured using some sahara sand reinker and water, smooshed it in it then heat set it to dry.

The inside of the card, love the little apple beside the basket.

The items I used that are available right now are listed below, the new stamp set, punch, mint macaron ink and cardstock and the gorgeous new DSP will be available from the 2nd June.

Quick and Easy go to card...

Life is super busy at the moment - you all know what I mean I am sure so when it comes time for cardmaking they have been somewhat quicker to make recently - not as many layers and stuff as ususal, but I am ok with that.

Now I have to admit, This card originally had the happy birthday sentiment stamped directly on the whisper white layer, but I had an issue with a stamp pad and it actually STUCK to the cardstock then ripped it, so what to do - I didnt want to redo the whole panel so I created a banner and stuck it on top and rounded out one of the corners to match then restamped the sentiment.

Everyone has a problem or messes up from time to time - but I love that it is always FIXABLE - thats where our creative side comes in full force he he he.

Project Life... Strawberry Picking

My little family love to go strawberry picking each season, and for some reason its important for me to remind my son where food actually comes from - not just the supermarket, PLUS its a beautiful day out and this day was no different.  We took a picnic too after we had finished picking our fruit, in a leafy part of Hahndorf in country South Australia.

Happy Mothers Day

Have programmed this post as today is Mothers Day and I am currently NOT tucked up in bed with breakfast on its way lol, but instead am watching my son playing football for his club this morning, as long as the coffee is hot now that the weather is too cold for me I will be ok with that lol.

Happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful mums, nans/grandmothers, furbaby mums and any other type of mum that I have missed - but most especially happy mothers day to my mum, I hope your day is peaceful and happy!

I Love Us...

Some stamps I just can't part with - this greeting set is one of them - it was a hostess set called Good greetings, it is so cool, I have also a used a soon to be retiring set for Project Life called Point and click.  Such a versatile set that I will be keeping, and you will probably see in upcoming project life layouts.

I also used the diecut photo frames from the Hello Life Project Kit that is in our occasions catalogue.
I am joining in with Friday Mashup this week which is to use retired/retiring items.

Happy Birthday Mum

Today is my mums birthday, and It is a special one so I wanted to make her something a little more special than normal.

My mum is super hard to buy for, really that is quite an understatement so over the last couple of years I have leaned towards giving her money,  I then spend the time coming up with pretty packaging to put it in.

How cute is this envelope - and it is double sided

The ribbon acts as a belly band to hold the envelope together

I used 1 piece of 12 x 12 whisper white cardstock to create this but I also used 1 sheet of 12 x 12 silver dotted vellum overlayed to give it a soft look.

A close up of the tag, its our super cute tag punch, the background on the tag is the circles from kinda eclectic stamp set. Has been stamped in silver encore pad then clear embossed.
The dot on the i of birthday is from our candy dots.
The silver is our brushed silver cardstock.

The inside of one side of the card, this is where I will write my birthday message

The full insert.  Again using the same circles stamp from kinda eclectic

Hopefully you can see all the cool embossing, looks so sparkly.

The other side is plain inside but it can tuck money inside.
No I am not giving her $5 he he he, but its all I had on me at the time.
I plan on layering the money to fill most of that space.
