Gelli plate crossed with Stampin' Up! reinkers

Back again with another card for you today.  Its a card design I have used previously HERE (yep my own) for a bokeh technique.   But today I have used the gelli plate and Stampin' Up!s marina mist reinker along with Stampin' Up!s star stencil to create the background on this card.

Here is my card:

A close up of the star.  The celebration sentiment is from the Project Life stamp set
called Remember This.

Also you can see a chevron pattern - I used it to add texture to my card, I used embossing paste and a chevron stencil to create that.   Just gives the card a little more dimension.

Hello Love x gelli plate x gelatos

So you all know now that I got my gelatos and gelli plate yesterday.  Well I had to have a play with them straight away (yep less housework done but oh well)!

Anyway I kept it really simple as it was my first time using these items so was a little hesitant.

I was in awe of the gelatos.  I have taken a couple of up close photos just to show you the shimmer on the cardstock, it is beautiful.

Here is my card:

So what did I do?  I used two gelatos on my gelli plate and using my fingers I blended them then gave it a small spritz.
I then popped a checkerboard stencil over the top to leave the imprint.
I pulle the stencil off and then popped my cardstock on top of my gelli plate.
The result was this background.
How shimmery is it and muted and soft - am in love.

another close up of the shimmer - hopefully you can see it well :)

and the hostess set I used on my card.

Tomorrow I will be back and I will show you a card using the gelli plate and Stampin' Up! reinkers.

Something new to try....

I have been intrigued with some new items (well new to me lol) in the marketplace lately.

SO I thought I would get some to try?
What are they?

Faber Castell Gelatos and a Geli plate!

Now the gelli plates come in all sorts of sizes - but as I mostly wanted it for project life and cards I will start with the 5 x7 size and see how I go.
I added some embossing paste and gesso to that order so I cannot wait to have a play.

I have to say I ordered this on Wed night (nearly Thurs morning lol) and it was to come from Perth, and yay it got to Adelaide this morning - so thank you Australia Post this time you did an awesome job.   If anyone wants to know where I purchased these from at good prices please email me :)

Stay tuned....

A Celebration banner with a twist....

Don't you love party banners?  I love them!

I have a banner to share with you today with a
TWIST!

These banners are actually treat holders - Yep!  Once you have finished your party at the end of it you can just snip the ribbon and take home a part of the banner which can be filled with treats.

Imagine:
Birthdays:  fill with sweets, large decorated cookies as party bags for your childs friends.

Hens night - the banner can be given as a present to the bride - filled by each guest with something ahem (naughty or nice)

Kitchen tea:  Gift cards can be popped in them instead of presents and then given to the bride to be - she can then go and shop for all the essentials.

Baby shower:  again gift cards for the mum to be, or if the mum to be wants to give out gifts, how about each one filled with a fancy iced cookie in a baby shape of course for each person who attended.

The ideas are ENDLESS...

a mini tutorial will also follow.....

 Mini Tutorial

All that is left to do is fill the treat holders and hang up on your wall or mantle

Unique birthday

I am feeling creative this week, must be the weather, I tend not to make cards so much throughout the summer, but as soon as the weather changes, boom I get itchy hands and just can't wait to get all inky.

I am joining in with another challenge this week, over at Mojo Monday, again, its been years since I have done one of their challenges, but as I sit here at 1am in the morning, inspiration has hit me!

Check out the sketch we had to work with Here

and here is my card.

I was tidying my craft room this week and came across a whole heap of my minds eye 6 x 6 paper pads.  The designer paper I chose today went perfectly with the stamp set from Stampin' Up! called butterfly basics.

Coffee with friends?

Coffee with friends?  Its always nice to find that time, but it rarely comes around in my busy life lol.

SO today its on a card!

I followed the colour challenge from JAI this week which was the following:

Melon mambo was hard for me to incorporate this week so I coloured the gemstones with my melon mambo stampin' write markers - hopefully its enough for the challenge this week but if not I am still happy with my card

The heart background panel - see how I did that in the below video - I just added coordinating blackberry bliss heart punchies in spots to give it depth.

A jar full of flowers...

Two posts in one day (gasp),  A card entry for a challenge (gasp again) lol.

Easter for me is officially over,  a heap of chocolate has been consumed, we have visited with family today and i sat down with a sudden urge to create, its been a long time between drinks (or cards) let me say  :)

Today I was in the mood to create a card ready for mothers day, I have one to send interstate for my elderly grandmother, as well as create one for my own mum and my husbands mum.

Today is the first one and I used the challenge over at Just Add Ink as my guide.

Yep there are some retired products in there - the Perfectly preserved stamp set and coordinating framelits, and the stamp set for my family, those gorgeous leaves that I just adore though are from kinda eclectic which are current.

Happy Easter!

Just HOPPING in to wish you all a very happy Easter and safe travels to all those that are away for the weekend....

I was visiting my Stampin' Up! friends blog recently and came across Patrice's easter baskets, they are so damned cute lol.  Head on over there and give her some blog lovin'

I liked them all so took my two favourites of hers and combined them to come up with
the one below:

So much fun was to had creating these cuties and a lot of chocolate eggs were harmed in the process - am not sorry for that at all he he he.

I didnt have any spotted DSP so had to use our now retired distressed dots background stamp which I embossed - love that stamp set to bits.

and them all packaged up to be given out.

Hoppy Easter Everyone!
