To add colour or not to add colour? That is the question!

I received a BBB (Big Brown Box) this past week yay!  For those not used to that term, its a Stampin' up! Delivery, they all come in brown boxes lol.

I had caved and ordered the stamp set called You've Got this.  I don't really do a lot of florals but this one appealed to me, and it kept making it onto my wish list lol.

So today I have for you one card but with an addition to the second version - DO I ADD COLOUR OR NOT

Opinions left on this post will be welcomed ha ha ha.

Ok here is the card.

Firstly without the pop of colour:

the background stamp was stamped on the whisper white in crumb cake, I then sewed (yes with a machine - GASP - I can't really sew lol) the vellum to the white cardstock, then stamped the image with versamark, then gold embossed it.  Love that gold is back!

and here is it again, with a second gold embossed layer of petals, but coloured with rose red

and I thought I would stamp a simple image of this flower inside of the card

and a close up of all the shiny goodness that is the gold embossing on the back of the envelope.

So what do you think?

Colour or no added colour?

Im going to add this to a challenge this week over at Stampin' Up! only! Challenges which is to use a new stamp from the new catalogue.

A thankful butterfly.

Can't ever go wrong with butterflies right?  Right!  So I had to join in with the Just Add Ink challenge this week which was to add butterflies.
This super cute set of butterflies is called watercolor wings.  Its a 3 step set - love it.

Just a note too:  This DSP is from the neutrals DSP stack, it is printed on an angle, just cut up the dsp on an angle to get it straight.

I also used crumb cake, crisp cantaloupe and mint macaron ink pads.

I love how you can mix and match stamp sets, the swirl is from everything Eleanor while those cute little group of 3 dots are from watercolor wings, yet they go in perfectly.

I am pretty happy with how this turned out :)

A fun little poem

I found this poem floating around the internet and thought I would share with you all today
Think you all can relate lol.

Ode to My Wife.

By Author Unknown.

She learned to stamp on Monday

Her embossing was quite fine.

She forgot to set out dinner,

So we went out to dine.

She brayered backgrounds Tuesday

She says they are a must.

They really were quite lovely

But she forgot to dust.

On Wednesday it was birthday cards

She says that chalking's fun.

Shading, blending, and watercoloring --

But the laundry wasn't done.

Her card swap was on Thursday

Using green and blue and red;

I guess she really was engrossed,

She never made the bed!

It was shaker cards on Friday

Using techniques she just adores,

But she never seemed to notice

The crumbs on all the floors.

I found a maid on Saturday!

My week is now complete

My wife can stamp the hours away;

The house will still be neat.

Well, it's already Sunday,

And my forehead's feeling damp.

I cursed, I raved, and I ranted --

The MAID has learned to stamp!

Tin Of Cards - Bermuda

I love the stamp set Tin Of cards, the font is just gorgeous, that sold me on this set straight away.

Today I have used it on chalkboard paper and white Kraft Ink.  I love the fancy title borders used on the side of this sentiment to frame it, and the little star is super cute.  This set also comes with a little heart - you will see that used a little further on, on the pink card.

How awesome do those little metallic silver doilies look, and love that bow punch.

Yep - I smudged the t on the thank you, it happens, I should have heat set it but was feeling a little lazy lol

Hope you liked them, will be back soon with more things Stampin' Up!

Gold is back.....

I have always loved gold, my jewellery needs to be gold it just suits my skin better lol.  So am very excited to know that gold is back!

This card I put together relatively easy tonight so thought I would share.
Again using power point, my Apple Mac died this week so its in being repaired, I am missing it dearly, it has all my digital stuff onit including watermarks, editing software, so I am stuck with what I have got while its being sorted :(

I have used the now retired gold ink, but I love it so kept it.  The gold thread is NEW to Stampin' Up! this catalogue, it is so fine but I adore it.
And I finally got to find a use for that little embellishment, the colour was a little mustardy for me but went perfectly on this card - yay!

Check out that cool gold foil cardstock by Stampin' Up!

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Forgive some of my photos, I am having all sorts of trouble opening MDS - which is where I do all my watermarking and stuff, so am using power point while I try and fix it.

I have a super cute card to share with you today and if you scroll further a really quick mini tutorial on how I got my pegs white.

I love mint macaron teemed up with crumb cake its so delicous - and is one of my most favourite colour combos.

HOW TO GET PEGS COLOURED:

I popped the pegs on a piece of card like below.  Dip both sides into the Kraft white ink pad - and fully cover.

Then dip them into your white embossing powder (or sprinkle the powder on with a spoon)

Heat set the embossing powder with your heat gun

Let Cool

TO do the sides, this will need to be done two at a time, dip the side in the ink and repeat all the above steps.  Repeat again on other side.
You can make any colour you want, if you don't want white then use versamark and your embossing powder colour of choice.

PLEASE NOtE: It gets hots after heat setting so allow to cool before touching.

I CASED this card from  HERE - but swapped it all out for our fantastic Stampin' Up! products
Inspiration definitely comes from all over the world!

Boys will be boys

Boys cards are always so hard for me to make.  I rarely make them though with an 8 year old should probably make them more lol
Today I am going to share with you my latest card using the barely inked up boys will be boys set.
I am a little unsure about this card but will share it all with you anyway :)

Each of my monthly class ladies took one of these home in kit form to create with their kids/nephews or whomever as a little bonus this month.

Just a note - the DSP is retired, but was the perfect colour for a boys card so just used it anyway.

Punch It Up

Just stopping in tonight with a little punch art - there is a little challenge going on for Stampin' Up! demonstrators - and that is to create something using 2 of the 4 punches listed below:
And boy was it hard, so I settled on a flower.

130698: Pansy
133784: Hearts Border133785: Fun Flower133786: Sweetheart

So I have chosen to use the sweetheart punch and the fun flower.

Use the fun flower punchie to create leaves, hand draw leaf veins using the pear pizazz stampin' write marker, sponge with daubers around the edges again using pear pizazz.

With the sweetheart punch cut each punchie on the angle as shown in pic 2.  Punch out however many you would like to create different fullness's for each flower.  I used about 6 punchies for this flower.  I inked each petal and thenused my bone folder to break up fibres a little to make each petal more pliable.

The circle punchie is just the backing for the petals, you will need to adhere each petal using tombow to this circle then start layering.

A little love

I haven't created in a couple of weeks, circumstances and Life have prevented me from it, so today while I was going through my blogger feed I stumbled across a card I just adored.  It was so lovely with lots of white space, which to this day I still struggle with.  I decided to CASE it.  Pulling out all of my Stampin' Up! supplies I quickly found a stamp that would work lovely with it - Butterfly Basics.
You can find the Card I Cased HERE

Here is the pic of the full card

To colour the flowers and stems I just used a stampin sponge BEFORE I cut it out

The Love word is from a retired set called expressions thinlets
