I have finally come to the conclusion that I CANNOT do clean and simple, I have tried and tried and I always end up adding, I envy those who can do it and do it well.
I took out my retired sew suite stamp set for this card.
I have wrapped some white twine from stampin' up! around the stamped cotton reel image.
added some twitterpated and neutrals buttons to the button card for some extra dimension.
I had to get this Just Add Ink challenge in tonight, This week its a sketch challenge:
I have a busy
weekend, and then maybe early next week am heading back to Noosa, my
grandfather is not doing well at all, he had radiation treatment last
November (my last trip there) and the prognosis was 6 months, I was
supposed to go back in March but my surgery was scheduled so I missed
that trip, so this will probably be my last visit with him, so hopefully am
heading off next week to spend whatever time he has left with him. Its not long now :( With that said, I have enough posts scheduled in case for you all so please come back.
NOTE: I appreciate all of my visitors and I thank you all for taking the time to leave comments, I know how busy life can be and I appreciate you spending a little of it on my little blog. I have always tried to keep my blog separate to my day to day life (so I didn't bore anyone), but since my little dog died this year, and the fact that I had so many lovely people leave so many nice comments and helped me through it, I thought I would share with you a little more of my "real life" lol. Though hopefully it won't always be bad news :)So I hope to see you now and again as your time permits.

Melissa - I just love this card! I missed this set last year, so I just had to find it, which I did about 2 weeks ago! I love how you dressed your mannequin - it's a really fabulous card. Hope your grandfather gets better soon. Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week!
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa! I am always surprised how much people care when I share personal stuff on my blog. I have suggested once or twice that I stop and everyone says "NO". It is nice to be able to share & know that others care!
ReplyDeleteLove the card! I can't seem to do CAS or fussy well! I don't really know what I am good at. Sometimes things work ... But many are mediocre. I am not saying this to get sympathyat all. I am just realistic about my ability! I adore your style. That's why I like to visit! Hugs xxx
Love the card Miss Mel....being an old sewer fm WAAAAAYYYYY back...it is a wonderful memory for me. The wee details are too sweet.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your trip. Sorry to hear that it is tinged with this sadness. Sending you much love, warmth and friendship. ooxx
This is a beautiful card, Mel - so pretty, and vintagey. Love all the gorgeous details. Thinking of you as you spend precious time with your grandfather. xx Thanks for playing along with us at JAI before you head off.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather. I really hope you get some quality time with him. It will leave you with lovely memories!
As for your card - love it! Lots to look at and great colours. Funny you say you're not good at CAS. When I do CAS I think it's not good enough because there isn't enough on it! Love all the buttons you added to your photo.
Take care of you xox
beautiful card Melissa and big hugs for you and your grandfather.
